Sainsbury's bosses claim logistics overhaul impacting 7,000 roles won't lead to job cuts

THOUSANDS of jobs at Sainsbury’s are set to be affected by a major shake-up of the supermarket giant’s logistics operations, bosses announced today.

The retail firm claimed that no worker would lose their job or be forced onto worse contractual terms and that the move, involving about 7,000 positions, would mean “service and availability are better for customers.”

The company plans to stitch together a patchwork of different logistics contracts across the country into just three, each dealing with a different type of product.
