Education spending levels in Scotland failing to deliver results, says IFS
SPENDING 18 per cent more per school pupil in Scotland is failing to deliver improved outcomes, according to a new report today.
The Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) study notes that Scotland has taken advantage of relatively low growth in pupil numbers over the last decade to rapidly increase spending per pupil.
Since 2009-10, pupil numbers grew by 13 per cent in England, compared with just 2 per cent in Scotland.
