Train drivers’ union set to stage another week of industrial action
Members of the drivers' union Aslef on the picket line at New Street station in Birmingham. Rail passengers will suffer fresh travel disruption in the next few days because of more strikes in long-running disputes over pay, jobs and conditions. Picture date: Wednesday May 31, 2023.

AUSTERITY-HIT train drivers are set to stage another week of industrial action later this month, their union Aslef said today.

Members at 15 train operators will refuse to work overtime between July 17 and 22 as part of a year-long dispute over plummeting take-home pay, the union warned.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of a six-day overtime ban hitting 16 train-operating companies, including Great Western, Northern and South Western, this week.
