London NHS Trust to stand trial for manslaughter of mental health inpatient
A LONDON NHS trust and a former ward manager will stand trial for the manslaughter of 22-year-old Alice Figueiredo in a first-of-its-kind case.
Figueiredo died on July 7 2015, while she was a mental health inpatient at Goodmayes Hospital, run by North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT).
The trust and the ward manager at the time of Figueiredo’s death, Benjamin Aninakwa, will stand trial for their actions in relation to her death.
