MEN’S RUGBY UNION:
European action returns tomorrow evening with 2023’s Champions Cup winners La Rochelle taking on Bath at the Recreation Ground.
Bath were the first English club to pick up the trophy back in 1998.
Defending champions Toulouse are not in action until Sunday when they host Ulster.
Tonight’s other fixtures see Gloucester up against Edinburgh and Montpellier at the Dragons in the Challenge Cup.
SPEEDWAY:
Manchester’s Belle Vue Aces have retained five of the squad that led them to Premiership glory for next season’s campaign.
The Aces will again be led by Brady Kurtz and Dan Bewley, with Jaimon Lidsey, Norick Blodorn and Jake Mulford all returning. New signing Zach Cook replaces Antti Vuolas.
No team has defended the Premiership since 2015, although Belle Vue have finished in the top three for the past four years.
MEN’S CRICKET:
Test cricket’s top two teams resume their five match series in Adelaide tomorrow morning, with India holding a 1-0 lead after thumping Australia by 295 runs a fortnight ago.
While India have named an unchanged squad, paceman Scott Boland, who hasn’t played a test match for almost 18 months, will replace the injured Josh Hazlewood for this pink ball match that will be part-played under floodlights.
MEN’S BASKETBALL:
Chris Jones top-scored with 20 points as Valencia brushed aside Jerusalem 96-83 to maintain the EuroCup’s only 100 per cent record and move three games clear in Group B.
Bahcesehir Istanbul still top Group A after beating Vilnius Wolves 84-74 with Gran Canaria in second following their 81-70 win at the Trentino Dolomites.
Poland’s Treft Sopot remain without a point after going down 83-69 at Ulm.
