SPEEDWAY: Former three-time world champion Tai Woffinden was placed into a medically induced coma after he was involved in a three-rider crash and suffered multiple fractures while racing for Polish team Rzeszow in Krosno on Sunday evening. 34-year-old Woffinden, who was due to ride for Sheffield in their Premiership meeting with Birmingham on Thursday, was airlifted from the track due to the severity of his injuries.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Both EuroCup play-off semi finals face a deciding leg tomorrow evening with Valencia hosting Tel Aviv and Istanbul’s Bahcesehir College travelling to Gran Canaria. Valencia had the best regular season record, losing only two of their 18 games, while Tel Aviv suffered six defeats, five of them away from home. Gran Canaria scraped past Bahcesehir 69-68 last week thanks to a last second three-pointer from Caleb Homesley.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Former Huddersfield player Will Pryce is returning to the English Super League after failing to break into the Newcastle Knight’s NRL team. Pryce, who scored one try in just five appearances since joining Newcastle for the 2024 season, has now signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Hull FC. He is expected to play in their Challenge Cup quarter final with neighbours Hull KR on Saturday.
