Defending champions Larne needed Benji Magee’s late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Crusaders, Cliftonville’s miserable form continued with a 0-0 draw against Glenavon, Dungannon beat Portadown 2-0 and Carrick drew 1-1 at Glentoran.

MEN’S CRICKET: Will Young scored an unbeaten 48 and Rachin Ravindra weighed in with 39 not out as New Zealand claimed their first test win in India since 1988 after cruising to an eight-wicket win at Bengaluru. Matt Henry had taken 5-15 as India crashed to 46 all out, their lowest ever total in a home test match, in their first innings. The second test of a three-match series starts in Pune on Thursday.

MEN’S BOXING: Unbeaten light-welterweight Adam Azim stopped Ohara Davies in the eighth round of their bout at London’s Copper Box Arena on Saturday night. Azim, who vacated the European title in April 2024, extended his record to twelve wins, nine by knock-out. On the undercard two-time world title challenger Anthony Yarde returned to the ring after a nine month absence with a points win over Latvian Ralfs Vilcans.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Wakefield Trinity thumped Toulouse 36-0 in Saturday’s Championship Grand Final to effectively ensure their return to Super League after being relegated last year. Wakefield have dominated the Championship this season and eased to the title after winning all but one of their 26 fixtures. Former England and Great Britain winger Jermaine McGillvary scored two tries and a conversion in his last game for Trinity before retirement.
