MEN’S FOOTBALL: Argentina face Mali in the Under 17s World Cup third place match in Surakarta, Indonesia at noon. Argentina lost out on penalties to Germany in their semi-final on Tuesday after a 3-3 draw whilst Mali went down 2-1 to France. Neither Germany nor France have won this tournament before but Saturday’s final is a repeat of June’s European under 17s final that the Germans won on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
MEN’S CRICKET: India take on Australia in the fourth of the their five match Twenty20 series in Nagpur tomorrow. India lead 2-1 after the Aussies picked up their first win on Tuesday thanks to Glenn Maxwell smashing an unbeaten 104 from 48 balls as they chased a target of 222. Needing 43 from the final two overs Maxwell sealed their five wicket victory with a four from the last ball.
MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Manchester Storm sneaked into the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup despite losing 4-2 at Sheffield on Wednesday night after scoring one more goal than Dundee during the group matches. They will have to play Sheffield again in the last eight where current cup holders Belfast will be up against Coventry, Cardiff face off with Glasgow and last year’s runners up Fife meet Guildford.
MEN’S FOOTBALL: Two former FA Cup winners are in action tomorrow night as the second round kicks off with Notts County against Shrewsbury and Wigan, who stunned Manchester City in the final ten years ago, travelling to York. Four-time champions Bolton face Harrogate tomorrow, Blackpool, who beat Bolton at Wembley 70 years ago, meet Forest Green and 1947’s champions Charlton are at Gillingham. Wimbledon host Ramsgate on Monday evening.
