ANTI-RACIST campaigners in London’s Camden area confronted two ex-BNP members who were canvassing for Restore Britain yesterday.
According to Stand Up to Racism, the fascist group’s former national treasurer Michael Newland and Patrick McGinnis, who has blamed “Jewish ideas” for the destruction of Britain, were part of Restore’s canvassing team in the Holborn & St Pancras by-election on Saturday.
They were confronted and chased out of Camden by residents who are part of the anti-racist group.
Stand Up to Racism discovered last week that fascists, neonazis and antisemites are involved in the Restore by-election campaign.
Stand Up to Racism anti-fascist officer Lewis Nielsen said: “Restore Britain are a racist far-right party that welcomes known fascists and antisemites.
“Our research has shown the people running their campaign in the Holborn & St Pancras by-election are ex members of the BNP who hold fascist and antisemitic views.
“We’re very proud our local activists confronted them, chased them out of Camden and showed them racists and fascists aren’t welcome. We will do it again.”
Restore Britain was contacted for comment.
