WOMEN’S BOXING: Bray-born Katie Taylor brought her spectacular career to an end by comprehensively out-pointing France’s Flora Pili at a sold out Croke Park on Saturday night.

The 40-year-old, who was 2012 Olympic lightweight gold medallist and three-time undisputed world champion, finishes her career with a record of just one loss, to Chantelle Cameron, in 27 fights.

Pili suffered her first defeat in 13 bouts.

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE: Defending champions Halifax won 36-30 at London Roosters to seal the regular season Super League title.

The two teams will meet again in next week’s Grand Final semi-finals.
