ACTIVISTS occupied the roof of a factory “producing crucial parts” for Israeli fighter jets to stop attacks on Palestinians, a direct action group said today.

People Against Genocide said two protesters had been arrested today after videos had been shared of activists breaking solar panels and pouring red paint on the roof of a Martin-Baker site in Denham, Buckinghamshire. 

The group said it was targeting the firm over its supplying of ejector seats for Israeli F-35 warplanes, which are deployed against Palestinians.

The action was shared today on the Aftershock platform, which documents global actions and demonstrations for Palestine.

People Against Genocide said the company’s products were “linked to attacks on civilians” in Gaza and Lebanon.

“This country, this Labour government, says that we have a partial arms embargo [on Israel],” they said.

“How can that be true when Martin-Baker … are selling parts to Israel and trading with them?

“They’re complicit in the genocide and they’re complicit with the zionist war machine. This is for the children of Palestine.”

One activist who appears in the video added that the owners of the firm have “a fortune of £1.699 billion,” adding that “they made that fortune from killing civilians.”

At least two activists appeared in photos later shared on social media, showing them holding a Palestinian flag and wearing shirts reading “People against genocide.”

Martin-Baker refused to comment when approached by the Morning Star.

A Thames Valley police spokesperson told the Star: “We were made aware of a protest at around 5:30am yesterday at Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Lower Road, Denham.

“Two women gained access to the roof of the building and caused damage to the premises.

“Officers attended the scene and worked alongside partner agencies to ensure the incident was resolved safely and with minimal disruption.

“A 20-year-old woman from London and a 27-year-old woman from Yorkshire have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

“They have been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue.”
