NEW ERA: New Zealand's Ruby Tui has signed for Trailfinders Women

WOMEN’S RUGBY UNION: Trailfinders Women have signed World Cup-winning New Zealand international Ruby Tui. The 34-year-old wing was part of the Black Ferns team who defeated England 34-31 in the 2021 World Cup final and also has Olympic gold and silver medals from the sevens game. Trailfinders were beaten 52-14 by Saracens in last season’s Premiership Women’s Rugby final.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has left Monaco by mutual consent. The 2018 World Cup winner with France linked up with the Ligue 1 side last summer having seen a four-year doping ban reduced to 18 months following an appeal. Pogba played his first match in two years when Monaco beat Rennes in November, but only made five further appearances and has now left the principality.

FORMULA ONE: Carlos Sainz ended speculation over his future after signing a new “multi-year” deal with Williams, a day after the British team confirmed his team-mate Alex Albon will be retained for 2027. Sainz has endured a disappointing season so far in a Williams which sits above only Aston Martin and newcomer Cadillac in the constructors’ standings. However, the four-time race winner has elected to stay put, with no vacancies at the grid’s top four teams.

MEN’S GOLF: LIV Golf pair Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter are set to play again on the the European Tour at the Links Championship in October. The Englishmen – who have both settled their hefty fines with the European Tour – are part of the announced field in Scotland alongside Tommy Fleetwood and former Open champion Cameron Smith, who has also been playing on the breakaway circuit, but did take part in last year’s links event.
