WOMEN’S CRICKET: Ellyse Perry’s unbeaten half-century helped Birmingham Phoenix beat MI London by five wickets in a dead-rubber clash between the Women’s Hundred’s bottom two.

Chinelle Henry top-scored with 42 as MI London posted 120 for six, with Hollie Armitage adding 31.

Perry then struck an unbeaten 62 from 39 balls, supported by Fatima Sana’s 36, to seal victory with six balls to spare.

Phoenix finished their campaign with just their second win, while MI London ended bottom.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Ben Davies has been appointed to the Football Association of Wales council.

Current captain Davies became the fourth Wales men’s player to win 100 caps last October, and the 33-year-old Tottenham defender’s appointment is part of the FAW’s delivery of its Together Stronger for the Future governance reforms.

The appointment of eight new council members will specifically represent coaches, players, supporters and young people in Welsh football.

FORMULA ONE: Graeme Lowdon has been sacked as Cadillac team principal midway through the team’s debut Formula One season.

Cadillac joined the 2026 grid after years of planning under Lowdon, but announced his departure on Wednesday as part of a “planned leadership transition,” with Marcin Budkowski taking over.

The Silverstone-based team are yet to score a point or reach the second phase of qualifying in their first 11 races, with reliability issues hampering their campaign.
