RESCUE services called off a major sea search for a missing 14-year-old boy today. 

The boy went missing off the Pembrokeshire coast on Sunday afternoon after three people experienced difficulty in the water at Marloes Sands beach.

HM Coastguard received a report that three people were experiencing difficulty in the water.

Two managed to get out of the water, but the teenage boy was unaccounted for and after two days the search was suspended on Monday evening.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said there were currently no plans to resume the search and that despite an extensive search “no sign of the missing person was found.”

The lifeboat service said its crew worked tirelessly for 22 hours at sea in a major, multi-agency search for the missing swimmer.

Angle Lifeboat RNLI said its crew had “shown immense dedication over the past two days,” and added that its thoughts were with the swimmer’s family and friends.
