Scottish Labour slams government for failing to support nurses
Deputy charge nurse Katie McIntosh administers the first of two Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine jabs to Clinical Nurse Manager Fiona Churchill, at the Western General Hospital, in Edinburgh

LABOUR slammed the Scottish government’s failure to support nurses both before and during the Covid-19 pandemic as “indefensible” today.

The majority of Scottish NHS nurses are considering strike action due to exhaustion, mental health issues and poor pay, Herald Scotland reported today.

Burnt-out nurses are feeling undervalued by the government, with one in three forced to skip meals to feed their family or to save money during the coronavirus crisis, according to the report.
