ARGENTINA: The Supreme Court has overturned a suspension affecting 80 clauses of President Javier Milei’s attack on workers’ rights, allowing his deregulation of overtime, working hours and severance pay to proceed.
The suspension followed a legal challenge by the CGT union federation.
The new ruling will reinforce criticisms of its decision to prioritise legal protests against the law over continued protests and strikes.
DR CONGO: At least 10 people were killed by a drone attack on a market in Masisi, North Kivu, on Friday, a local official said.
The area is under control of the M23 rebel group, which is backed by Rwanda and the most powerful of various militias fighting for control of mineral-rich areas in the huge African country.
The drone attack is presumed by the country’s army.
PALESTINE: A wave of settler and soldier attacks on civilians in the occupied West Bank took place over the weekend.
Troops fired stun grenades at a family having a picnic in Burak Sulayman, a man and his child were hospitalised after being attacked in Khirbet Shuweika, settlers burnt a Palestinian home down in al-Lubban Asharqiya and others forced a family to exhume their father’s body and re-bury him elsewhere, saying the grave was too close to an illegal settlement in Jenin.
There were multiple other incidents.
TENERIFE: The cruise ship carrying passengers infected with hantavirus docked today, and the first evacuations to their home countries began with a plane to Spain the first to leave.
Passengers are leaving the boat under controlled conditions and will be required to isolate on reaching home.
