SUDAN: The head of the World Health Organisation, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus said today that the death toll from three separate drone strikes in Kagoli in Sudan’s Kordofan state last week is now at 114 people.
Dr Ghebreyesus said the organisation “calls again for an end to the violence and increased access to humanitarian aid.”
CONGO: A bomb explosion killed more than 30 people and wounded 20 others in eastern Congo on Sunday following a dispute between the Congolese army and a pro-government militia, despite a deal signed in Washington.
Congo is locked in war between the Congolese armed forces and the Rwanda-backed M23 militia group in eastern Congo.
HUNGARY: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban accused European Union leaders today of wanting to admit Ukraine into the bloc by 2030 to involve the whole of Europe in a war with Russia.
Posting to social media, he said: “Brussels is preparing for war with Russia and has already set a target date for joining the war: 2030. The stated goal of the weapons programme launched by Brussels is to prepare for war by 2030. 2030 is also the target date for Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU.”
UNITED STATES: US Vice-President JD Vance took to social media on Sunday with a bogus claim that mass immigration into the country robs citizens of the “American dream.”
He said: “Mass migration is a theft of the American dream. It has always been this way, and every position paper, think piece, and economic study suggesting otherwise is paid for by the people getting rich off the old system.”
