Wales organisers of Your Party demand access to data withheld by central leadership
Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana take part in a discussion on Your Party, their new political party, at The World Transformed conference, at Niamos Radical Arts Centre in Hulme, Manchester, October 10, 2025

WALES organisers of “Your Party” demanded access to membership data today in a public reproach to the new left party’s British leadership.

The group’s Wales co-conveners Beth Winter and Mark Serwotka said their repeated requests for essential access to the “sign-up and membership data and resources” from Your Party UK have been unsuccessful.

Without this they have been unable to contact members individually as the national party sometimes refuses to sign off on correspondence, they said in a statement.

This “flies in the face of any commitment by YP UK to autonomy and self-determination for the people of Wales,” they said.

“We will not allow Wales to be treated with contempt and it is beyond shameful that the actions of a few at the centre at a UK level risks hindering what we are trying to achieve here in Wales.”

Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana announced the formation of the new party in July.

While it was being formally registered, some £800,000 in donations and membership data were collected by MoU Operations Ltd.

Former Labour MP for Cynon Valley Ms Winter was among three directors who resigned and handed over the directorship solely to Ms Sultana in October. Mr Serwotka is the former general secretary of the PCS union.

Senior Your Party figures accused Ms Sultana this month of withholding the funds.

Ms Sultana said that she “is in the process of transferring all funds and data” but had been refused necessary documentation to conduct essential due diligence.

A Your Party spokesman said: “At the end of the month our founding conference is set to democratically agree proposals for autonomy and self-determination in Wales, as in Scotland.”
