Iranian oil tanker blaze ‘possible drone strike’

AN OIL tanker believed to have sailed from Iran caught fire after it was struck in a suspected drone strike on Saturday off the coast of Syria.

The Syrian oil ministry said that firefighters had controlled the blaze after the attack, which military sources have attributed to Israel, on the ship outside the Baniyas oil refinery.

State news agency Sana said the fire started after “what was believed to be an attack by a drone from the direction of Lebanese waters.”
