A UNION has called for a second day of strike action against Uber, with members logging out of the app between 6am and 7pm tomorrow.
The App Drivers and Couriers Union (ADCU) said the action is in protest at worsening pay and conditions, following the introduction of Uber’s new terms and conditions on January 5.
President Cristina-Georgiana Ionaitescu said: “With driver pay down 16 per cent, many are having to work 12 or 14 hours a day just to make ends meet. Enough is enough.”
ADCU also backed a first day of strike action on Monday, when many drivers logged out between 7am and midday.
The union is supporting a collective legal action against Uber in the Netherlands over its Dynamic Pay system, where Uber processes driver data.
The claim seeks compensation for lost earnings and emotional distress, action over the unlawful use and transfer of driver data to the United States, and an injunction to halt dynamic upfront pricing.
