TEACHERS at Llantwit Major Comprehensive School, south Wales, will take renewed strike action tomorrow in response to cuts to planning and preparation time.
NEU Cymru and NASUWT Cymru members will strike after the school and governors cut teachers planning preparation and assessment time to the minimum allowed under current rules.
NEU Cymru senior organiser Daniel Maney said: “While meetings have taken place between the unions, the employer and Acas, as yet it has not been possible to reach agreement.
“The NEU is taking strike action to highlight the situation and the seriousness with which our members take this issue. We call on the employer to get back around the table and find a resolution to this issue.”
In a separate dispute, NASUWT Cymru national executive member Sharron Daly was not allowed to attend a redundancy consultation meeting with Vale of Glamorgan Council officials about job cuts at Llantwit Major School.
The council was asked to comment on the strike and why it stopped Ms Daly from attending the job cuts meeting.
