Sultana asks Electoral Commission for Your Party documents to allow £800,000 transfer
Zarah Sultana, with Jeremy Corbyn (not pictured) takes part in a discussion on Your Party, their new political party, at The World Transformed conference, at Niamos Radical Arts Centre in Hulme, Manchester, October 10, 2025

ZARAH SULTANA has asked the Electoral Commission to help her “conduct essential due diligence” to allow the transfer of more than £800,000 to the left-wing Your Party.

The funds were raised after the foundation of the organisation was announced in July, coming from an initial wave of donations managed by MoU Operations Ltd, but before Your Party was registered as a legal entity.

MoU Operations is now run solely by Ms Sultana following the resignations of all its other directors.

A spokeswoman for the independent MP said today that Ms Sultana had asked the Electoral Commission to provide copies of the relevant documents.

“Zarah has been working to transfer all funds and data held by MoU Operations Ltd to Your Party,” the spokeswoman said.

“To enable her to conduct essential due diligence, she has requested copies of relevant documents directly from the Electoral Commission.

“Zarah did not choose to become the sole director of MoU Operations Limited but was prepared to take on this responsibility to ensure funds are transferred as quickly as possible and preparations for the founding conference can progress.

“As sole director, she is legally responsible for ensuring the company’s costs, liabilities and expenses are settled, and this process may take some time.

“To ensure funds are available for the founding conference, she will transfer £600,000 in tranches over the next couple of weeks. The first £200,000 is scheduled to be sent November 12.

“All remaining funds will be transferred once the company’s costs, expenses and liabilities are settled in full.”

The Electoral Commission was contacted for comment.
