MEN’S RUGBY UNION: The revamped Pacific Nations Cup kicks off in Japan tomorrow morning with defending champions Fiji up against Canada and the hosts taking on the United States. Tonga, who finished third in 2025, and Samoa will both not be involved in this year’s competition. Fiji is currently ranked as the world’s ninth best team, two places above Japan with the USA in 14th and Canada languishing below Tonga and Samoa in 24th. 

SPEEDWAY: King’s Lynn kept its hopes alive of reaching the Premiership play-offs after they led from the first tape to thrash second-placed Leicester 52-38 on Thursday evening. Jan Kvech top-scored with 13 points for King’s Lynn and Chris Harris weighed in with 11+1. Defending champions Ipswich are the team in danger of missing out on the end of season competition following their 42-48 loss at home to table-topping Belle Vue. 

ICE HOCKEY: The new domestic season gets underway this weekend with all 10 Elite League teams involved in Challenge Cup action. Holders and nine-time winners Nottingham begin their campaign with a double-header against Manchester which will include the first competitive fixture at the Manchester Arena for 22 years. Last year’s runners-up Coventry visit Sheffield tomorrow before hosting Cardiff Sunday evening.

MEN’S BOXING: Ryan Garcia defends his WBC welterweight title against Greenwich’s Conor Benn in Las Vegas early Sunday morning. Garcia won the title with a unanimous decision over Mario Barrios back in February and has lost twice in his 25-bout career. Benn has lost once, to Chris Eubank Jr, in 25 fights. On the undercard, unbeaten cruiserweight Jai Opetaia takes on WBC champion Noel Mikaelian in a non-title contest.
