MEN’S CRICKET:

England meet the West Indies in Barbados tomorrow evening for the deciding leg of their three match one-day series.

The Windies cruised to an eight wicket (DLS method) win in the first game before new captain Liam Livingstone smashed nine sixes in an unbeaten 124 that sealed England’s five wicket success on Saturday.

The West Indies are ranked as the world’s 10th best one-day team, three places below England.

HORSE RACING:

90/1 outsider Knight’s Choice, ridden by Irish-born jockey Robbie Dolan, won Australia’s Melbourne Cup after a photo-finish early on Tuesday morning.

Japanese-bred Warp Speed was a nose behind in second with Okita Soushi three quarters of a length back in third.

Absurde in fifth was the best placed of the European-based challengers with much-fancied Vauban, partnered by William Buick, finishing eleventh.

MEN’S BASKETBALL:

Darius Garland top-scored with 39 points as Cleveland Cavaliers remained the only unbeaten team in the NBA’s Eastern Conference after edging out Milwaukee 116-114 on Tuesday morning.

Oklahoma City have the sole 100 per cent record in the West following their 102-86 win over Orlando 102-86.

Jayson Taytum hit 26 first half points as defending champions Boston Celtics won 123-93 in Atlanta to continue their good start.

MEN’S FOOTBALL:

If the Champions League form book is any guide there won’t be many goals in Gelsenkirchen tonight when Shakhtar Donetsk take on the Young Boys of Berne.

Neither team has scored in their first three games but Shakhtar do have a point from their opening day 0-0 draw at Bologna.

Elsewhere, tomorrow evening, two teams who have yet to concede a goal, Inter Milan and Arsenal, clash at the San Siro.
