MEN’S CRICKET: Australia took seven wickets for 34 runs in the final evening session to win the fourth test against India by 184 runs in Melbourne today.

Yashavi Jaiswal’s 84 from 208 balls and Rishabh Pant’s cautious 30 were the only double figure scores in the innings as Pat Cummins took 3-28 and Mark Boland 3-39 to seal a 2-1 series lead for the Aussies.

The fifth test starts in Sydney on Thursday.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Defending champions The New Saints will move back to the Cymru Premier summit if they don’t lose Tuesday afternoon’s home game with Connah’s Quay, but need a win to keep the pressure on table-topping Penybont, who face Cardiff Met tonight.

Tomorrow evening’s other fixtures see Bala put their nine-game unbeaten league run on the line against Caernarfon Town and Briton Ferry Llansawel take on Barry Town.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Toulouse lead the Top 14 by a point after they cruised to a five-try 38-23 win over Stade-Francais and their nearest challengers Bordeaux-Begles edged out third-placed Toulon 21-17.

Injured Owen Farrell was again missing as Racing 92 drew 25-25 with Lyon, La Rochelle lost out 21-13 at Perpignan, Pau thumped bottom club RC Vannes 48-24, Bayonne beat Castres 33-12 and Montpellier won 22-18 at Clermont-Auvergne.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Defending NBA champions the Boston Celtics continued their stuttering form with a 123-114 loss at home to Indiana which leaves them five games behind league leaders Cleveland Cavaliers, who visit the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday morning.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander netted 35 points as second-placed Oklahoma City beat Memphis 130-106 for their seventh straight win, while Minnesota squeezed past San Antonio 112-110 and Miami edged out Houston 104-100.
