FIGURE SKATING: Three-time European medallists Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson became the first Britons since Torvill and Dean to win a figure-skating medal at the World Championships when they claimed the Ice Dance bronze in Boston on Saturday evening.

The US’s Madison Chock and Evan Bates defended their title to take gold with Canadian pair Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier picking up the silver.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Canterbury Bulldogs top the NRL after defending the league’s only 100 per cent record with a 20-6 win in Cronulla while defending champions Penrith lost again, going down 28-18 at South Sydney.
