MEN’S FOOTBALL: Two goals from Declan McManus helped defending champions The New Saints (TNS) earn a 2-1 win at Barry Town in Sunday’s Welsh League Cup semi final. TNS will meet Aberystwyth in the final after they needed penalties to beat Cardiff City’s under 21s following a 1-1 draw. Aberystwyth have never reached a League Cup final and currently sit rock bottom of the Cymru Premier, 26 points behind second-place TNS.

WOMEN’S RUGBY UNION: Unbeaten Exeter still top the English Premiership by three points despite not being in action over the weekend as second-placed Harlequins eased past Ealing 47-26 and Saracens saw off Loughborough 32-21. Defending champions Gloucester-Hartpury suffered a 14-19 loss at home to Bristol and Leicester won their first match of the season after running in six tries for a 34-17 victory at bottom of the table Sale.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Donovan Mitchell top-scored with 35 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers edged out reigning NBA champions Boston Celtics 115-111 on Monday morning. The Cavaliers have the best record across the competition, losing just three of their 21 games while Boston have now lost four times. Washington Wizards have the worst record with only two wins from 18 matches after losing 124-114 at Milwaukee.
