MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Fife Flyers goaltender Janis Voris has been fined and suspended for one game after skating the length of the ice to instigate a fight with his opposite number in the dying seconds of their 7-5 home defeat to the Belfast giants.
Fife forward Kieran Craig has also been banned for one game and fined after striking the Belfast goaltender on the head with his stick during the same incident.
MEN’S FOOTBALL: While Newcastle take a 2-0 advantage into Wednesday night’s second leg of their English League Cup semi-final against Arsenal at St James’ Park, it’s Dunfermline hosting Livingston in the last four of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

MEN’S CYCLING: British junior 25 mile time-trial champion Aidan Worden was killed after colliding with a vehicle during a training session in Darwen, Lancashire.
The 18-year-old had been both a BMX and road racer for the north-west England-based 360Cycling team and achieved the highest place for a junior rider in last year’s 50-mile-long Eddie Sorens Memorial Race at Liverpool’s Aintree racetrack.
