Lahore Qalandars' Kusal Perera plays a shot during the Pakistan Super League Twenty20 final cricket match between Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars, in Lahore, Pakistan, May 25, 2025

NETBALL: London Pulse still top the Super League on points difference after they came from behind to overhaul Birmingham Panthers 63-58 on Sunday and second-placed defending champions Loughborough eased to a 71-54 win at bottom club Cardiff. The top two have now secured their play-off semi final places. In the other fixtures London Mavericks beat Nottingham Forest 57-48 and third-placed Manchester won 69-55 at Leeds.

MEN’S CRICKET: Kusal Perera smashed four sixes and five fours in an unbeaten 62 as Lahore beat Quetta by six wickets at the Gaddafi Stadium to claim their third Pakistan Super League play-off title in the last four years. Quetta had topped the table during the regular season, four points ahead of fourth placed Lahore, and were on an eight-match unbeaten run before Sunday’s final. Quetta’s Hasan Nawaz was named player of the tournament.

MEN’S CYCLING: Mexican Isaac del Toro takes an 80-second lead into tomorrow’s sixteenth stage of the Giro D’Italia after he finished safely in the leading pack behind Carlos Verona on Sunday. Briton Simon Yates is second overall with del Toro’s team-mate Juan Ayuso six seconds further back in third. Tomorrow’s stage is a mountainous 203kms with three category one climbs from Piazzola sul Brenta, north of Padua, into San Valentino.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Two goals from Kirsty Howatt after Mia McAuley had opened the scoring sealed a 3-0 win for holders Rangers over Glasgow City in Sunday’s Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park. Despite missing out on Champions League football next season after finishing third in the league the Light Blues did complete a second successive domestic cup double following their Premier League Cup success in January.
