MEN’S FOOTBALL: Bolivia came from behind to beat Suriname 2-1 this morning to set up next week’s World Cup intercontinental play-off final against Iraq. The winners of that tie will join France, Senegal and Norway in Group I. 

Wrexham’s Bailey Cadamateri scored as Jamaica beat New Caledonia 1-0 and will play the Democratic Republic of Congo in their final, with the winners joining Portugal, Uzbekistan and Colombia in Group K.

 

MEN’S CRICKET: Fakhar Zaman top-scored with 53 from 39 balls as defending champions Lahore Qalanders began the defence of their Pakistani Super League trophy on Thursday with a comfortable 69-run win over new team Hyderabad Kingsmen. 

Last year’s bottom club Multan Sultans play Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi, including England’s James Vince and Tymal Mills, meet Rawalpindiz in today’s double header at Lahore’s Muammar Gadaffi stadium.

 

MEN’S BOXING: Chatham-based unbeaten heavyweight Moses Itauma takes on Jermaine Franklin in a non-title fight on Saturday night in Manchester. 

The 21-year-old Itauma has won 11 of his 13 fights by knock-out while Michigan-born Franklin has two losses, by points to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte, on his 26 bout record. 

On the undercard 36-year-old Nathan Heaney faces Gerome Warburton in an all-British WBA Continental middleweight title contest.

 

DARTS: World Champion Luke Littler hit two 170 finishes on the way to beating Michael van Gerwen 6-4 in Thursday night’s Premier League final in Berlin. 

Littler now tops the table by two points from Jonny Clayton, who lost 6-3 to Josh Rock in the first round. 

Despite his first competition win Rock remains anchored to the bottom, five points below Stephen Bunting who went down 6-3 to Luke Littler in their opening clash.
