HORSE RACING: 2023’s Champion Hurdle winner Constitution Hill continues his new career on the flat in a novice stakes at Kempton Park next week. He won the Christmas Hurdle for a record three times at the Surrey track.

Ryan Moore will replace Osian Murphy on board after the reigning champion jockey received an eight-day ban for excessive whip use.

Constitution Hill romped to a nine-length win on debut at Southwell last month.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Early season Super League pace-setters Wigan came from 14-0 down to edge out York 23-22 on Thursday evening and preserved their 100 per cent record.

Wigan’s back-line was missing Bevan French, as well as long-term injury victims Jai Field and Abbas Miski.

Despite another promising performance, York have lost three of their last four games after seeing off defending champions Hull KR in their opening match.

MEN’S BOXING: Unbeaten George Liddard defends his British and Commonwealth middleweight belts against former European champion Tyler Denny in London on Saturday night.

Twenty-three-year-old Billericay-born Liddard has won eight of his 13 bouts by knockout.

West Midlands-based Denny is 11 years older than his opponent and has lost three of his 27 fights, including 2024’s attempt at the Commonwealth title against Hamzah Sheeraz.

DARTS: World Champion Luke Littler came from 5-0 down to beat Gerwyn Price 6-5 in Thursday night’s Premier League final in Dublin.

After seven legs of the 17 round tournament Littler is three points behind table-topping Jonny Clayton, who lost 6-3 to Luke Humphries in the first round.

Josh Rock remains rooted to the bottom without a win after being crushed 6-0 by Gerwyn Price.

Gian van Veen missed the competition due to illness.
