NETBALL: Defending champions London Pulse face Loughborough Lightning in tomorrow afternoon’s Super League preliminary final at the Lee Valley Velopark. It’s a repeat of last year’s Grand Final but this time around, the winners will go on to face Manchester Thunder in next week’s season finale. London finished second, a point behind Manchester in the regular season, with Loughborough a point further back in third.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Former Saracens back-row forward Tom Willis has been voted the English Premiership’s player of the season. Willis left Saracens after last week’s 32-12 defeat at Exeter ended their play-off hopes and will return to European champions Bordeaux-Begles next season. The 27-year-old, who played 19 games in Bordeaux after Wasps were wound up in 2022, has won eight caps for England.

MEN’S BOXING: Unbeaten WBA, WBC and WBO super-flyweight world champion Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez makes his debut at bantamweight tomorrow evening when he fights Antonio Vargas for his world title in Glendale, north of Los Angeles. Vargas, who has won 19 of his 22 professional bouts, defended the WBA belt in July last year after climbing off the canvas to secure a draw with Japan’s former world champion Daigo Higa.

MEN’S CRICKET: Bangladesh secured their first ever one-day series victory over world champions Australia after gaining a five-wicket Duckworth-Lewis-Stern-method win in Mirpur on Thursday. Chasing a revised total of 192, the Bangladeshis lost opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim to the second ball of their innings before Tawhid Hridoy steered them home with an unbeaten 40. Sunday’s dead-rubber third match will also take place in Mirpur.
