
MEN’S FOOTBALL: Defending champions Mexico came from behind to beat the United States 2-1 in this morning’s Concacaf Gold Cup final in Houston.
The Mexicans were one down in the fourth minute after conceding a header from Crystal Palace centre half Chris Richards, before goals from Fulham’s Raul Jimenez and West Ham’s Edson Alvarez sealed their tenth Gold Cup title.
They have beaten the US in six of those finals.
NETBALL: London Pulse beat two-time defending champions Loughborough Lightning 53-45 on Sunday evening to complete the domestic treble, adding the Super League grand final trophy to their regular season league title and victory in this year’s inaugural Super Cup.
In front of a record Super League crowd of 10,000 at the London Arena, the Pulse’s Funmi Fadoju was named as player of the match.
SPEEDWAY: Belle Vue captain Brady Kurtz claimed his second consecutive Grand Prix victory after topping the podium in Sweden at the weekend and moved within nine points of world champion Bartoz Smarzlik, who finished second on the night.
Britain’s Dan Bewley was third and is now just two points adrift Fredrik Lindgren, who was runner up in 2023, in the race for a podium place. Latvia hosts the next round in a month’s time.
