Denzel Bentley celebrates victory over Brad Pauls during the British, EBU European, WBA Continental and WBO International Middleweight title fight at Wembley Arena, London, December 7, 2024

CYCLING: Belgium’s Lotte Kopecky has been awarded the women’s Velo D’Or award after a season in which she retained her World Road title and won 15 other races including the European time trail, Strade Bianche Donne and Paris-Roubaix femmes. 

Tadej Pogacar won the men’s award and also collected the Eddie Merckx trophy for the best Classics rider with Dutch rider Harry Lavreysen picking up the Chris Hoy trophy as best Olympic cyclist.

MEN’S BOXING: Denzel Bentley earned a dominant unanimous points win over Brad Pauls to claim the British and European middleweight belts in an exciting bout at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.
