CYCLING: Slovenia’s World champion Tadej Pogacar attacked on the final ascent of the Oude Kwaremont to win Sunday’s Tour of Flanders one-day race by just over a minute from second-placed Mads Pedersen, with Mathieu van der Poel in third.
Belgium’s Lotte Kopecky sprinted clear of Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, Liane Lippert and Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney to become the first woman to win three Flanders titles.
MEN’S CURLING: After wins over defending champions Sweden 8-7 in the quarter finals and hosts Canada 7-4 in the last four, Olympic silver medallists Scotland edged out Switzerland 5-4 in this morning’s World Championships final in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Scotland were behind twice in the final before sealing victory with the last stone of the match. Canada took the bronze medal with China in fourth.
MEN’S BASKETBALL: Leicester followed up their 80-71 victory over Super League leaders London by slumping to a 93-88 defeat at bottom of the table Caledonia on Sunday evening.
