MEN’S BASKETBALL:

Orlando saw off Atlanta 120-96 to set up an NBA eastern conference play-off against defending champions Boston, while in the west, Jimmy Butler top-scored with 39 points as Golden State held off Memphis 121-116 and will face Houston in the next round.

Today’s games see Dallas up against Sacramento with the winners playing this season’s best team Oklahoma City and Miami take on Chicago for a chance to meet Cleveland.

SNOOKER:

China’s Zhao Xintong, who received a 20-month ban in 2023 for betting-related offences, beat Elliot Slessor 10-8 on Tuesday to seal his place in Thursday’s draw for the upcoming World Championships at Sheffield’s Crucible theatre.

Zhao won the UK Championship in 2021, but has not yet been officially readmitted into the professional ranks, and will become only the third amateur to ever compete at the tournament.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION:

While its parent club enters administration due to financial shortcomings, Cardiff RFC will take to the field at Pontypool Thursday evening as league leaders in the Super Rygbi Cymru Trophy.

The competition is the second-tier of Welsh rugby, and each team is partnered with one of the four regional clubs.

The evening’s other fixture sees Bridgend host face fourth-placed Llandovery at the Brewery Field.

MEN’S FOOTBALL:

All three British teams are on level terms before this evening’s second legs of their Europa League quarter-final ties.

Rangers travel to Athletic Bilbao looking to build on last week’s 0-0 draw, Manchester United host Lyon with the score at 2-2 while Tottenham will start at 1-1 when they travel to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Norway’s Bodo Glimt take a 2-0 advantage to Lazio in the other fixture.
