Senedd race neck and neck as polls put Reform and Plaid level
A view of the Senedd

LATEST opinion polls for the race to form the next Welsh government show Plaid Cymru and Reform UK neck and neck on 29 per cent.

The latest ITV Cymru Wales You Gov poll shows the English nationalist party has increased its vote share by four points, while Plaid has seen a drop of two points.

Because of the new d’Hondt proportional voting system the poll modelling shows that Reform would win 37 seats and Plaid Cymru would win 36.

Both parties would be short of the majority of 49 seats needed to form a government so the support of other parties becomes crucial.

The Welsh Green Party has seen its poll figure drop to 10 per cent, which is estimated to yield seven seats, while Labour remains in third place on 13 per cent, with a predicted seat share of 12.

But on this polling Welsh Labour leader Eluned Morgan will lose her seat, as will Conservative leader Darren Millar as his party would win just eight seats.
