Scottish unions’ Palestine pledge: You’re not forgotten
Scottish trade unionists’ commitment to the Palestinian people is reinforced by yesterday’s visit to the firefighters of Nablus

DUNDEE trade unionists have pledged to donate a fire engine to firefighters in Nablus as part of the first solidarity agreement between workers in Britain and Palestine.

A delegation from Dundee Trades Union Council that includes members of the FBU firefighters’ union, general unions GMB and Unite and posties’ union CWU has travelled to the West Bank city for today’s signing of the agreement with Palestinian general union PGFTI.

Jim Malone of the Dundee TUC said the new agreement serves to strengthen the historic relationship between Dundee and Nablus, which have had a twinning agreement going back to 1980.
