Scottish Greens call for veto on Loch Long industrial fish farm

SALMON farm proposals which could scar the picturesque banks of Long Long must be blocked, say the Scottish Greens.

The plans for the farm had been rejected by the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Authority in 2022, but the developer’s appeal was then called-in by the Scottish government, placing the final decision in the hands of ministers.

Just days after Holyrood’s rural affairs and islands committee angered environmental campaigners by refusing to back a moratorium on new fish farms, Green MSP Arianne Burgess said: “Loch Long is renowned for its natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural heritage.
