MEN’S FOOTBALL: A top three place in the Irish Premiership is up for grabs in this evening’s Belfast derby as Crusaders host Linfield at Seaview.

Bottom club Dungannon Swifts take their miserable, pointless start to the season to Newry City before table topping Glentoran take on second-placed Coleraine on Saturday.

The weekend’s fixtures are completed by Ballymena against Carrick, winless Portadown facing Larne and third-placed Cliftonville travelling to Glenavon.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Jordie Barrett’s last-minute try earned New Zealand a 39-37 win over Australia in a superbly entertaining game in Melbourne to win the Bledisloe Cup and ensure the All Blacks stay top of the Rugby Championship.

An unchanged South Africa face an Argentinian team who have recalled four players, including veteran Agustin Creevy, following their recent heavy loss to New Zealand, in Buenos Aires on Saturday night.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: The Scottish Cup first round kicks off this evening with Pollok FC taking on Huntly in a match that will be televised live by BBC Scotland.

In tonight’s other fixtures Brora Rangers from the Highland League travel to Cumbernauld to take on the Lowland League’s Broomhill FC while Auchinleck Talbot visit Grangemouth-based Syngenta Juveniles.

The remaining 27 games are due to be played on Saturday and Sunday.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Last year’s runners up Wigan lock horns with Leeds tonight for a place in this season’s Grand Final at Old Trafford next Saturday.

Champions St Helens will be without injured prop Alex Walmsley when they take on Salford in the other semi-final on Saturday.

The Saints and Leeds have both previously won the Grand Final on eight occasions with St Helens picking up the last three trophies.
