Chelsea's win over Tottenham strengthens their case for a top-four finish
Marcos Alonso v Tottenham Feb 2020

FRANK LAMPARD’S Chelsea have found victories difficult to come by of late, but when it mattered, against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, they claimed the victory to strengthen their hopes of a finish in a top-four spot.

Goals from Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso either side of the half-time break ensured the much-needed victory for Chelsea, whose form at home had been a real concern.

A late Antonio Rudiger own-goal gave Jose Mourinho’s side a little hope but, in the end, it was not enough, and in truth, the visitors should not have deserved to take anything from the match.
