Russell Brand pleads not guilty to rape and sexual assaults charges
Russell Brand leaves Southwark Crown Court, London, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and sexual assault, May 30, 2025

MEDIA pundit and former television presenter Russell Brand pleaded not guilty today to rape and sexual assault charges.

The 49-year-old stood stock-still in the dock and looked straight ahead as he delivered his pleas at Southwark Crown Court.

It is alleged that he attacked four women between 1999 and 2005.

Mr Brand is accused of raping a woman in a hotel room who was attending a Labour Party conference in Bournemouth.

He allegedly grabbed a TV worker’s breasts and orally raped her after dragging her into a male toilet.

Mr Brand is also alleged to have grabbed a radio station worker’s face, pushing her against a wall and kissing her before groping her breasts and buttocks.

The final charge alleges the actor indecently assaulted another woman after grabbing her forearm and attempting to drag her into a male toilet.

Mr Brand, of Hambleden, Buckinghamshire, was released on conditional bail and is due to stand trial on June 3 next year.
