BUSY rail routes face disruption tomorrow after RMT resumed strikes in a long-running rest day working row with Avanti West Coast.
Train managers will walk out as the dispute remains deadlocked.
RMT had called off planned strikes for the last two weekends but is now threatening industrial action on Sundays for the next few months.
A reduced timetable will be in operation this Sunday, with fewer services running during limited operating hours, and trains which will run are expected to be busy.
An RMT spokesman said: “We remain ready and available at any time for talks to make progress on settling this rest day working dispute.”
Kathryn O’Brien, customer experience director at Avanti West Coast, warned that services will also be affected by engineering work in the Crewe area, saying: “We’re disappointed that the RMT strike action is ongoing, and will impact our customers who may be working, visiting family and friends, or enjoying days out.”
