Pochettino admits he wants Premier League return
World XI head coach Mauricio Pochettino before Soccer Aid for Unicef 2024 at Stamford Bridge, London, June 9, 2024

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has admitted he is “missing” the Premier League and would like to return to management in England one day.

The 53-year-old former Southampton, Tottenham and Chelsea boss is currently head coach of the United States, whom he is preparing to guide into a home World Cup next year.

But he has made clear that his longer term ambitions could lie in a return to the competition that he left in 2024 after departing Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino told BBC Sport: “Of course I am missing it. I am so happy in America, but also thinking one day to come back to the Premier League. It’s the most competitive league.”

In five years at Spurs, the Argentinian guided them to a second-place finish as well as Champions League and League Cup finals, but is eager for another chance to claim some elusive silverware.

“I think we were so close in Tottenham, we nearly touched it,” added Pochettino. “That is a thing that I would want to achieve.”
