Activists from Palestine Action occupied the London offices of military consultancy firm Universal Defence & Security Solutions (UDSS) today.
One of the company’s directors is Sir Mark Poffley, a former deputy to the chief of defence staff in the armed forces, who also sits on the board of as a director for Israel’s biggest weapons producer Elbit Systems.
Scaling the area above the front entrance, the activists unfurled banners reading ”Mark Poffley War Criminal” and hung up Palestine flags.
On its website, UDSS claims to offer ”military and defence consultancy, defence solutions and wider security advice” to governments and businesses throughout the world.
A spokesperson for Palestine Action said: ”Palestine Action will not allow war criminals to hide in plain sight.
“Mark Poffley used to oversee a £38 billion budget for the UK Ministry of Defence.
“Now he's using his connections and access to profit from the Gaza genocide and benefit Israel’s biggest weapons producer, Elbit Systems.”
UDSS has been contacted for comment.
