PALESTINE ACTION activists accused of £15 million criminal damage at RAF Brize Norton were denied bail today and told they will face trial in January 2027.
Supporters waving Palestinian flags rallied outside the Old Bailey as Amy Gardiner-Gibson, 30, Jony Cink, 25, Daniel Jeronymides-Norie, 36, and Lewis Chiaramello, 22, appeared via videolink.
They are charged with conspiracy to destroy property and to enter a prohibited place for a purpose prejudicial to the safety and/or interests of the UK, on June 20.
Prosecutors said that repair costs from the incident in Oxfordshire have so far reached £1.7m and could rise to just under £15m.
Defence lawyers told the court they do not have evidence about the extent of the damage or information to back the estimated bill.
Gardiner-Gibson, known as Amu Gib, Clink and Chiaramello are among eight hunger strikers who have been detained for offences relating to the direct action group before it was proscribed under terrorism legislation in July.
Cink and Gardiner-Gibson, who are both of no fixed address, Jeronymides-Norie, of Barnet, north London and Chiaramello, of Brent, north-west London, are next to appear at the same court for a preliminary hearing on January 16.
Campaigner Tim Crosland’s application to dismiss terror charges, linked to alleged support for Palestine Action, against him was later refused by the court.
The 55-year-old former barrister and co-founder of Defend Our Juries is charged with three counts of addressing a meeting to encourage support of a proscribed organisation and five counts of arranging a meeting to support a proscribed organisation this year.
He was released on conditional bail ahead of a four-week trial on June 22.
