Number of government new-builds falls by 90%

THE number of new government-funded homes available for social rent has fallen by 89 per cent since the Tories moved into No 10.

The number fell from 39,492 in 2009/10 across England to just 4,235 in 2017/18, government housing data published yesterday shows.

And two-thirds of those (2,826) are in London under Labour Mayor Sadiq Khan.
