Mother of epileptic boy vows to fight on for medical cannabis

THE mother of a severely epileptic boy who finally had the medical cannabis that keeps his seizures at bay returned today has vowed to battle for an urgent review of “massively outdated” laws so other children can receive the treatment.
Charlotte Caldwell demanded a meeting with Cabinet ministers and an assurance that she would not face “another battle” when 12-year-old son Billy’s 20-day supply runs out.
After a week-long struggle, Home Secretary Sajid Javid used an exceptional power on Saturday to return one of seven bottles of cannabis oil Ms Caldwell tried to bring over from Canada.
