Almost all London council blocks lack sprinklers despite Tory promises, Labour reveals
ALMOST all of London’s council blocks are still without fire sprinklers despite government funding promises following the Grenfell tragedy, Labour revealed today.
Shadow housing minister Sarah Jones carried out research which revealed that 96 per cent — or more than 800 residential tower blocks — are not fitted with sprinklers.
Prime Minister Theresa May promised to do “whatever it takes to keep people safe” after the blaze in June 2017 killed 72 people.
