Green MSP determined to end anti-choice protests outside health clinics
People take part in an anti-abortion protest, organised by 40 Days For Life, on Hardgate Road, close to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, February 14, 2024

A GREEN MSP has spoken of her determination to end anti-choice protests outside health clinics for good.

Gillian Mackay made the comments ahead of her giving evidence to Holyrood’s health, social care and sports committee, which is considering her Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Bill.

The Bill would create 200 metre “buffer zones” around health facilities offering abortion services, which Ms Mackay hopes will put an end to staff and patients being harassed and intimidated by anti-choice campaigners.
